IMO Food Bank

The food bank is opened every Friday (except on holiday week-ends) from 2:30 – 4:00 PM.

Mission Statement:

Working to end hunger in our communities by,

  • Providing food and supplies to the poor and needy people.
  • Mobilizing larger support, involvement and performance.
  • Creating social change to reduce poverty through education and demonstration.

Description:

The I.M.O food bank was founded and launched in April 1999 as part of its Social Services program, and in response to hunger in our communities – all nationalities, muslims and non-muslims alike.

The weekly food bank empowers the I. M. O. (a non-profit organization) to help feed the poor and needy people, and improve their lives.  We do this by distributing perishable (frozen meats) and non-perishable food products; and by educating and engaging our communities in the fight against hunger and poverty.

The food bank receives food donations from individuals and companies with unsaleable stocks.  Because of this support, we were able to help more than 2,000 families over the years.  We urge you to support our efforts by donating canned and boxed dry groceries, bakery products, and personal hygiene or household cleaning items
